Korindo Group (Korindo) was founded in 1969 and is currently one of the leading Korindo Korean companies in various industries in the Papua & Southeast Asian markets. For more than five decades of operation, we uphold environmentally friendly and future-oriented practices. In addition, we have made a significant contribution to the economic development of the country.
At first, Korindo Korea put its main focus on hardwood development which then switched to plywood/veneer in 1979. Five years later, Korindo expanded into the newsprint sector and continued into wood plantations in 1993. Finally, there was the development of a business line in coconut plantations. palm oil in 1995.
To date, we have 16 business lines, including forestry, oil palm plantations and rubber plantations. In addition, the production of newsprint, wood, wind towers, factories and steel structures. We also carry out special vehicle manufacturing, shipping, transportation, distribution, securities, multi-finance, insurance, real estate and rest areas.
Through these business lines, Korindo seeks to reach aspects of the nation’s life through the products and services it produces. Business actors can partner with us by utilizing logistics, real estate and rest area services. On the other hand, the Indonesian people can use insurance and multi-finance products from the Korindo Papua business unit.
We also export various high value added natural products such as oil palm plantations. This step allows Korindo to contribute to the Indonesian economy and development through foreign exchange donations.
Korindo Korea for Indonesian Citizens
With a wide range of businesses, Korindo’s business activities are supported by tens of thousands of employees. We are also equipped with a foundation entity that functions to carry out social activities. This activity has absorbed 25 thousand direct workers and 20 thousand indirect workers, not including contractors
At the beginning of its establishment, Korindo adopted the motto ‘Green Tomorrow’ as a guideline for running an environmentally friendly business. At the age of 50, in 2019, the motto changed to ‘One Step Ahead’. This step is the beginning of a change for the better.
Major changes are intended to increase value for stakeholders, build a more competitive and superior company. On the other hand, we hope that this step will provide benefits through environmentally friendly business management, improvement of occupational safety and health in all business institutions of PT Korindo Group.
We have strong aspirations and commitment to become an Indonesian national company. Not only to participate in the development of Indonesia, but also to improve the welfare of the people in a number of areas.

Korindo Group has a sense of responsibility to take part in helping people in need. This commitment is firmly held by us as a company that has been part of Indonesia for more than 50 years.
Our attention includes those who are in areas affected by natural disasters. A number of aids have been distributed by the company in recent years, including:
Donation to Flood Affected Villages in Kobar
In 2017, Korindo Korea provided assistance to 10 flood-affected villages in West Kotawaringin, North Arut, Central Kalimantan. The total assistance for basic necessities and medicines reached around Rp. 100 million.
In addition, we also mobilized medical personnel and provided free health services by visiting people’s homes directly. This is done in collaboration with the West Kotawaringin Health Office.
Korindo Korea Help for Lombok Earthquake
In 2018, an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter Scale (SR) hit the Lombok area, West Nusa Tenggara. At that time, Korindo Foundation immediately cooperated with Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) to distribute aid. Donations in the form of 58 large boxes containing logistical needs and basic materials were distributed to affected residents.
Korindo Papua Donates Plywood to Palu and Donggala
Still in 2018, Indonesia was hit by another disaster with an earthquake and tsunami that hit the Palu and Donggala areas, Central Sulawesi. The aid of plywood raw materials worth Rp 7 billion was distributed by Korindo through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Central Headquarters.
A total of 112,120 pieces of plywood were shipped using the Asike Global ship belonging to Korindo Group Papua. The wood was used to build temporary shelters for earthquake victims who had lost their homes in Palu, Donggala, Sigi, and Sigi other areas around Central Sulawesi. As much as 45 percent of the total aid was distributed to Sigi, the area that suffered the most damage.
Plywood aid is also used to make household furniture and public facilities. According to PMI data, this assistance has helped at least 8,500 residents in five areas in Central Sulawesi.
Korindo Group Donates for the Banten Tsunami
Korindo owners went directly to the Banten area which was hit by the tsunami at the end of 2018. Assistance in the form of basic necessities, instant noodles, mineral water, school uniforms, shoes, and school bags for children was distributed to local residents. The aid was focused on Sumberjaya Village, Sumur, Pandeglang, as a village that suffered severe damage.
Korindo also gave aid for a fire that occurred in February 2019 in the Asgon area, Mappi, Papua. The fire left around 700 residents homeless. To help with the recovery efforts, Korindo donated Rp. 100 million in cash which was received directly by the Regent of Mappi.
Korindo Group Donate for Sentani and Halmahera
The provision of cash assistance was again carried out the following month for the Sentani area, Jayapura which was affected by the flash flood on March 16, 2019. This disaster left 122 people dead and 5,347 houses destroyed. The distribution of aid in the form of cash worth Rp. 200 million was carried out at the Jayapura Regent’s office, which is the central post for the flood disaster.
In the same year, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Halmahera, North Maluku. Korindo immediately distributed at least 256 tons of clean water to the residents of the area. The assistance was given in accordance with the report of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) which stated that clean water was the most urgent need for the victims.
In addition, the company also provided assistance in the form of heavy equipment and building materials consisting of 1,000 sheets of plywood and 200 sheets of tarpaulin. This assistance is useful in cleaning and repairing roads, as well as repairing infrastructure. Thanks to the donation, eight villages were reported to have been helped, namely Gane Dalam Village, Gane Village, Yamli Village, Sekely Village, Kurunga Village, Yomen Village, Jibubu Village, and Awis Village.
The assistance mentioned above is a form of the company’s participation in helping to revive the enthusiasm and hope of the community who are experiencing difficult times. Korindo understands that this is not worth the pain and loss felt by the affected residents. However, we hope that this gift can lighten their burden a little.
